Planning Your VisitThe Old Lighthouse Museum is closed for the 2011 season. We
will, however, be open on Saturday December 3, 10, and 17 from 1:00 PM
to
4:00 PM. The collection is available for researchers and Michigan City Historical Society members by request.
The
museum is open for public tours from April
through October, every day except Monday,
from 1:00 PM
to 4:00 PM Central Time.
Self-guided and audio
tours as well as
docent-led tours are available. The last tour each day begins at 3:30
PM Central Time. Call the museum at (219) 872-6133 to check on special
hours, closings, or to book tours. Strollers are not allowed in the
museum. The Old Lighthouse Museum is located in the west end of Washington Park in Michigan City, Indiana.

Directions to the Old Lighthouse MuseumFrom I-94 or U.S. 20: Take U.S. 421 (Franklin Street) north into downtown Michigan City. Turn right at 11th Street (the street with the railroad tracks in the middle). Travel one block east on 11th Street and turn left onto Pine Street. Follow Pine Street across U.S. 12 as it curves left then right into Washington Park. Cross the draw bridge over Trail Creek and at the circle housing the Civil War Memorial, go right and immediately do a U-turn heading west on Heisman Harbor Road into the Marina and Lighthouse parking lot. From U.S. 12 or U.S. 35: Enter downtown
Michigan City and turn north on Pine Street into Washington Park. Cross
